Benefits

• Supplies a high organic calcium complex to plants and solubilizes existing soil calcium around the root zone.

Application

Apples and Pears

• Action: For reduction in bitter pip, russeting, skin splitting, cracking, rupture and bruising. To improve fruit firmness and storage potential.
• Rate: 5.0 – 10.0 L/Ha to give a minimum of 50 litres over the season.
• Water volume: High volume 500L/Ha (to incipient run-off) on small trees and increase pro rata for larger trees as necessary. Concentrate spraying – do not exceed 10.0 L/Ha.
• Timing: Commence immediately post blossom and repeat every 10-14 days up to 10-14 days before harvest. The continuity of the spray program through the season is important but exact rates and timings can be manipulated to suit local spraying practise and variety requirements. If spraying cannot be deferred and temperatures exceed 28 degrees Celsius, use the lower dose and a 7 day interval to give the same total amount over the season

Strawberries

• Action: To improve fruit firmness and shelf life.
• Rate: 2.5 L/Ha (maintenance) 5.0 L/Ha (deficiency).
• Water volume: 500-1000 L/Ha
• Timing: Apply from the start of flowering and repeat at 7-14 day intervals through to harvest or as required.

Stone Fruit

• Action: To prevent surface deformities and improve storage potential.
• Rate: 2.5 L/Ha (maintenance) 5.0 L/Ha (deficiency).
• Water volume: High volume to pro rata for larger trees to incipient run-off. Do not exceed a total of 10% volume of X-Cal-8 in the spray mix.
• Timing: Apply one month prior to harvest and repeat 10-14 days later OR follow the same program for apples and pears.

Grapes

• Action: To reduce stem die-back and premature fruit drop off.
• Rate: 2.5 – 5.0 L/Ha
• Water volume: 500 L/Ha to incipient run-off.
• Timing: Apply at suitable intervals at 2.4 L/Ha from the end of flowering. Increase the rate to 5.0 L/Ha and the interval to 14 days once the fruit begins to soften.

Kiwi Fruit

• Action: To improve fruit firmness, reduce fruit pitting and prolong shelf life.
• Rate: 2.5 – 5.0 L/Ha
• Water volume: 500 L/Ha to incipient run-off.
• Timing: Apply at 2.5 L/Ha from the end of petal and repeat at 10-14 day intervals, increasing the rate as required.

Lettuce (outdoor)

• Action: For the prevention of tip burn and heart rot.
• Rate: 5 L/Ha.
• Water volume: 500 L/Ha
• Timing: Commence applications a minimum of 14 days after emergence or transplanting. Apply directly onto susceptible tissue. Repeat at 7-10 day intervals as required.

Tomatoes, Peppers, Tamarillos and Capsicum

• Action: To prevent Blossom End Rot and other deficiency-induced disorders.
• Rate: 5.0 – 10.0 L/Ha
• Water volume: 500 L/Ha to incipient run-off.
• Timing: Apply from fruit set, directly onto the growing fruit and continue at 7-10 day intervals during fruit development.

Melons and Cucurbits

• Action: For prevention of deficiency-induced disorders.
• Rate: 5.0 L/Ha
• Water volume: At least 500 L/Ha.
• Timing: Apply up to 3 sprays after flowering, at 10-14 day intervals.

Brassicas

• Action: For prevention of deficiency-induced foliar disorders.
• Rate: 5.0 L/Ha
• Water volume: At least 500 L/Ha.
• Timing: Apply early in the season when plants are growing actively and once there is sufficient foliage to sufficiently absorb spray.

Carrots and Root Crops

• Action: For prevention of deficiency-induced disorders.
• Rate: 5.0 L/Ha
• Water volume: At least 500 L/Ha.
• Timing: Apply once there is sufficient foliage present to intercept the spray.  Repeat at 7-10 day intervals as required.

Potatoes

• Action: For prevention of internal rust spot and black scurf. To improve storage potential.
• Rate: 3.0 – 5.0 L/Ha
• Water volume: At least 500 L/Ha.
• Timing: Apply at tuber initiation, with two further treatments at 10-14 day intervals.
